BOC REWARDZ PLUS Programme

The below mentioned Terms and Conditions are applicable to "BOC REWARDZ PLUS" loyalty rewards Scheme.

1. Definitions

(1.1) "BOC REWARDZ PLUS" means a rewards scheme introduced by Bank of Ceylon (BOC) for Credit Card holders subject to the Terms and Conditions stated herein.

(1.2) "BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account" means the account created by a BOC Credit Cardholder by registering via https://www.rewardzplus.boc.lk/ Web Site, which reflects all transactions related to BOC REWARDZ PLUS scheme for the particular BOC Rewardz Plus Account holder in Bank of Ceylon records, including earned Points, adjusted Points, bonus Points, redeemed Points and expired Points.

(1.3) "BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account holder" means the Primary Credit Cardholder of BOC Rewardz Plus Account

(1.4) "BOC REWARDZ PLUS POINTS" means the reward points credited/debited to the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account as a result of eligible transactions (a “BOC REWARDZ PLUS Transaction”) conducted using the connected Credit Card and the redemptions.

2. BINDING EFFECT

(2.1) The BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account holder shall agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions stated herein

(2.2) BANK OF CEYLON may time to time supplement, amend, replace, update, delete or otherwise vary any of the following items pertaining to the BOC Rewardz Plus program and shall communicate such changes to the BOC Rewardz Plus account holders by way of a narrative in or enclosure or amendment to the existing content, via the Statement or Bank of Ceylon Corporate Website or the BOC Rewardz Plus Website or as a short message service (SMS) or any other appropriate communication medium

  • a) Features/benefits of the BOC Rewardz Plus program

  • b) Terms and Conditions including the Schedules

  • c) Reward Partner Establishments

  • d) Modify, terminate or discontinue the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program

  • e) Add, withdraw or change the membership/accountholder criteria

  • f) Limit or change the value / validity of BOC REWARDZ Plus points and/or the manner of redemption

Any changes shall be effective upon above communications.

(2.3) The updated information, terms and conditions and other related details are published in the https://www.rewardzplus.boc.lk/, website and BOC REWARDS PLUS Account holders shall bound to be aware and updated with the most up to date and current version.

3. MEMBERSHIP

(3.1) The BOC REWARDZ PLUS membership is limited to Primary Credit Cardholder (i.e. first named customer).

(3.2) BOC credit card holders whose credit cards are not expired and/or not blocked and/or in good standing and/or are regular in payment or otherwise not in default in any manner at a given time is automatically qualified to participate for the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program.

(3.3) Upon the completion of the self-registration for BOC REWARDZ PLUS scheme, credit cardholders are allowed to access their BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account and the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account will enable the credit cardholders to accumulate points on the use of their credit cards.

(3.4) Membership is also subject to the qualifications (for special offers/benefits/promotions provided through the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program from time to time) and conditions (including annual BOC REWARDS Points accrual limits, Expiry of points, membership period, if any) determined by the BANK OF CEYLON.

(3.5) BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account holders (hereinafter referred to as “the Account holder”) whose credit cards are expired and/or not in good standing and/or are arrears in payment or otherwise in default in any manner at a given time and/or breach of any terms and conditions relating to BANK OF CEYLON credit card or BOC REWARDZ PLUS program will be automatically disqualified from the membership of BOC REWARDZ PLUS program and such Accountholders are removed from the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program.

(3.6) Membership is automatically terminated upon the death, bankruptcy of the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account holder and the points accrued/available in such terminated accounts shall be forfeited and cancelled by the Bank.

4. BOC REWARDZ PLUS POINTS

(4.1) Account holders will be rewarded based on the use of their credit cards and will accumulate points for any POS and E-Commerce transactions conducted via the Credit Cards issued by the Bank of Ceylon as follows.

The Reward Points shall be accrued in the name of an individual.

(4.2) One point equals to One Rupee in value (1Point = Rs.1/-).

(4.3) Entitlement to offers/rewards of BOC REWARDZ PLUS scheme and redeem the points are limited to cardholders whose credit cards are valid and in good standing and are not in payment arrears or otherwise in default in any manner at a given time and not in breach of any terms and conditions relating to BANK OF CEYLON credit card or BOC REWARDZ PLUS program.

(4.4) The Rewards points shall be calculated for the eligible transactions based on section 4.1 above, from the date this rewards program is implemented.

(4.5) The Cardholder shall not earn Rewards points in respect of following transactions,

  • Cash advance or cash withdrawals at ATM

  • Quasi cash transactions including but not limited to casino

  • Currency purchasing

  • Balance transfer

  • Monthly installment billing

  • Annual fee and other fees, finance charges and other charges

  • Unposted or cancelled transactions

(4.6) Rewards points are accrued for both Primary and Supplementary Cards transactions and the Primary Cardholder is eligible to redeem the total Rewards points available for both Primary and Supplementary Cards.

(4.7) For any transaction done via Credit Card Installment Plans, Points shall be awarded at the initiation for the full initial transaction value and not consider the monthly installments made during the tenure of the plan.

(4.8) Rewards Points shall be calculated by rounding down the transaction value to the nearest integer.

(4.9) Rewards Points shall not be assignable, transferable, combined with another holder, mortgaged, charged or pledged.

(4.10) In the event of a status change of a BOC Credit Card Category (such as an upgrade or downgrade), the points calculation shall be adjusted only for the transactions incurred from the date of change accordingly.

(4.11) Upon termination this agreement or becoming ineligible for membership or removal from the membership or any breach of the terms and conditions by any cardholder will cause for automatically removal from participation in the rewards program and points that have been accumulated will be forfeited and cancelled by the Bank.

5. REWARDS EXPIRY

(5.1) The reward points added at the time of the card transaction are valid up to 31st December of following year and shall expire after the validity period. The unused rewards points shall be removed from the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account as of the expiration date and shall not be re-credited.

(5.2) BOC REWARDZ PLUS accountholders shall be aware of points accrued, outstanding in the account and their expiration dates which can be monitored at any time online via https://www.rewardzplus.boc.lk/.

6. BOC REWARDZ PLUS STATEMENT

(6.1) A record of BOC Rewards activity for each BOC REWARDS account holder shall be e-mailed or otherwise made available in the form of an electronic or online statement at BOC REWARDZ PLUS Website under the reward account (“BOC REWARDS Statement”) on regular basis or periodically as determined by the Bank.

(6.2) Any manifest error in the Rewards Statement shall be reported to the Bank within fourteen (14) days of the Statement date.

7. REDEMPTION OF BOC REWARDS POINTS

(7.1) Rewards Points in the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account that are accrued, credited and valid (not expired) at the time of redemption are eligible for redemption.

(7.2) Rewards points may be redeemed by using any one of the below mentioned options;

  • Redemption via BOC REWARDZ PLUS web portal;

  • Redemption via BOC REWARDZ PLUS Partner Establishments;

(7.3) Automatic redemption shall be allowed at Rewards Partner Establishments by providing the registered mobile number of the Cardholder. The monetary value of the rewards points shall be deducted from the purchase price of the item.

(7.4) Rewards points once redeemed shall be deleted/removed/debited from the respective BOC REWARDZ PLUS account upon the Cardholder’s requesting for redemption.

(7.5) Redemption requests once made and processed shall not be cancelled or changed.

(7.6) Rewards points shall not be encashed, or transferred back to the Card as a credit or settled of an outstanding balance on the credit Card.

(7.7) BOC REWARDZ PLUS accountholders whose credit cards are not expired and/or not blocked and/or in good standing and/or are regular in payment or otherwise not in default in any manner at a given time are eligible to redeem rewards points.

(7.8) Only the primary Cardholder is eligible to redeem the rewards points.

(7.9) Redemption for air tickets, hotel stays, and other merchandise /vouchers and bookings shall not be exchangeable, returnable, refundable, or redeemable for cash or credit, nor shall they be replaced in the event of loss, damage or destruction, or cancelled, revoked, transferred or changed by the BOC REWARDS Account holder in any manner.

(7.10) Vouchers redeemed for air tickets, hotel stays and other merchandise or the issue of vouchers or bookings shall be sent to the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Account holder’s email ID or billing address as requested.

8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

(8.1) BANK OF CEYLON shall not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, claims or any other liability demanded by a BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holder at following instances;

  • Non availability or operation of the BOC REWARDZ PLUS Website

  • Issues at redemption of rewards points or in any other way arising from membership in, or in connection with the rewards

  • For any amounts payable by a BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holder to any third party

  • For items purchased/supplied, its quality, installation or use,

  • Any negligence, breach of statutory or other duty on the part of the supplier, issuer, merchant and/or other person associated in any way, directly or indirectly, with BOC REWARDZ PLUS program.

(8.2) The Bank shall not make any representation or warranties whatsoever, expressed or implied, and shall not assume any liability on the quality, use, suitability, fitness for any purpose of any good/services purchased via BOC REWARDZ PLUS program and shall be accepted by the BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holder at his/her own risk and peril.

9. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

(9.1) Fraud and/or any such attempts relating to the earning and pooling of reward points or redemption orders may result in forfeiture of the accrued reward points in addition to the Credit Card being withdrawn / cancelled by the Bank.

(9.2) In the event a particular transaction is disputed or charged back or reversed for whatever reason, the rewards points accrued from such transactions shall be reversed by the Bank. In the event such rewards points have been already redeemed, the Bank reserves the right to recover the rupee equivalent of the disputed rewards points by charging the Credit Card or any other account maintained with the Bank by the REWARDZ PLUS accountholder. In the event a claim is made in such instances the REWARDZ PLUS accountholders shall agree to settle such sums due, by the next payment date indicated in the Statement.

(9.3) In the event a REWARDZ PLUS accountholders voluntarily terminates the Rewards Account or has his/her rewards account terminated by the Bank at any time for any reason, both the primary and the supplementary Credit Cardholders shall be disqualified from participating in the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program. On such termination, any unutilized rewards points shall be automatically cancelled and no longer be available for redemption by the BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holder.

(9.4) If a supplementary Credit Cardholder's account is terminated at any time for any reason, the primary Credit Cardholder can continue the rewards account unless the Bank determines otherwise.

(9.5) In case of any dispute arising out of the BOC REWARDZ PLUS program, the decision of the Bank shall be final and conclusive.

(9.6) Notices / special offers in conjunction with the BOC REWARDS program published from time to time by the Bank shall be notified to the BOC Rewardz Plus Accountholders via e-mail or as Short Message Services (SMSs).

(9.7) Upon registration for the BOC Rewardz Plus Program, the BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holder shall authorize the Bank to store the details of the account holders and transactions in a platform of a bank appointed third party and hosted in cloud-based solution to calculate the rewards points and facilitate the redemptions.

(9.8) Upon registration for the BOC Rewardz Plus Program, BOC REWARDZ PLUS account holders shall be aware and agree with the Privacy Statement of the Bank and the Booking Policy provided in https://www.rewardzplus.boc.lk/.
